The OSCE Presence in Albania organized on February 5, 2020, a planning meeting on extractive industries’ royalties with the participation of representatives of the Agency for the Support of Local Self-Governance, the Albanian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, the Association for Local Autonomy, and the Albanian Association of Municipalities. The participants agreed on the plan of activities for 2020, which includes the organization of a national roundtable on royalty issues, the drafting of legal proposals to amend legislation gaps, and the simplification of the whole royalty claim process.
