06 Aug Transparency in Practice – EITI Albania Roundtable with Albpetrol sh.a.
On July 21, 2025, the EITI Albania organized a presentation roundtable at the premises of the state-owned company Albpetrol sh.a. in Patos/Fier, with the active participation of around 50 employees from this strategically important company in Albania’s extractive sector.
The roundtable opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Genci Terpo, Director General of the EITI Albania Secretariat, who emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation and the critical role public companies play in implementing international transparency standards.
The technical session included:
- An introduction to the EITI initiative – its objectives, core principles, and its relevance to sectoral transparency, presented by Ms. Anila Hajnaj, member of the EITI Albania Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG);
- A practical overview of EITI Albania’s reporting process, published data, and stakeholder engagement mechanisms, delivered by Ms. Emiliana Kola, specialist at the EITI Albania Secretariat.
This activity was held as part of a broader outreach agenda aimed at strengthening interinstitutional cooperation and increasing technical awareness and capacity around the EITI Standard at the operational level of the extractive industry.
