06 Aug Training on the 2023 EITI Standard
On 22 July 2024, at the premises of the National Agency of Natural Resources (AKBN) in Tirana, a thematic training session on the implementation of the 2023 EITI Standard was held, organized in institutional cooperation with the EITI Albania.
The training aimed to strengthen the technical capacities of AKBN staff in line with the updated requirements of the EITI Standard, highlighting the importance of regular, accurate, and verifiable reporting in the extractive sector.
The key topics covered included:
- The principles and updates introduced in the 2023 EITI Standard
- Reporting templates and data requirements for public institutions and extractive companies
- Disclosure of beneficial ownership, gender equality, and environmental/social impacts
- Standards for data quality assurance and the validation process
- An interactive session for participant reflections, experiences, and suggestions for improvement
Participants – including department heads and technical experts from AKBN – contributed to a professional and open discussion environment, sharing daily practices and perspectives for further enhancement.
The training was led by recognized experts in extractive sector transparency and reporting, with extensive experience in technical assistance and the implementation of international standards.
