06 Aug National Online Training – Successfully Concluded!
On July 22, 2025, a one-day online training titled “Extractive Industries, Energy Security, and Climate Transition” was held, organized by the Studies and Development Center (SDC) in cooperation with the EITI Albania .
The training gathered 53 participants from public institutions, civil society, the private sector, media, and students, focusing on:
- Energy security and the risks of fossil fuel dependency
- The role of critical minerals in the future energy mix
- Social and environmental impacts of extractive industries
- Transparency and governance aligned with the EITI Standard
- Sustainable development and the integration of renewables
At the close of the session, Mr. Genci Tërpo, General Director of the EITI Albania Secretariat, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of this training format—open to the wider public—as a meaningful opportunity to gain deeper insight into energy security challenges, climate transition, and the role of renewable energy. Initiatives like this are essential for building local capacity and fostering informed public discourse.
Participants’ feedback: 100% rated the training as “very good” or “excellent,” praising the content, clarity, and practical approach.
