18 Oct EITI survey – Kukës
Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Secretariat followed with the EITI survey in Kukës city.
There were surveyed 100 citizens of different age groups, giving so data on the information that citizens have about the extractive industry in their area as well as the EITI initiative.
We held meetings with employees of Kukes Municipality. During the meeting with the General Secretary of the Municipality, we talked about the EITI initiative, the information published in annual EITI reports and regarding some issues that the Municipality of Kukës had encountered from the operation of extractive companies, such as damage to infrastructure from the usage of heavy vehicles of extractive companies, royalty revenue which has started to be distrusted in 2016, but in very low monetary value.
